Patient and Support Persons Policy

Policy Established: Tuesday 4th Oct 2022

1. Patients visiting the clinic rooms are required to be seated still in the clinic chair whilst undergoing the microsuction procedure.
2. It is important that the patient does not move suddenly or jump during the microsuction ear wax removal procedure. The procedure is gentle; however it is imperative to communicate any signs of discomfort, taste and/or dizziness to the registered nurse.
3. Patients are required to wear a mask during the procedure due to COVID-19, Ear Cleaning Clinic is considered a high-risk health setting, therefore this is a law-abiding direction.
4. Patients may only have one (1) visitor or support person in the room – this includes children. Due to health and safety purposes, the visitor or support person must stay quietly seated in the chair provided. Failure to abide by this policy will result in an order to exit the clinic room.
5. Parents are asked to please avoid bringing extra children to the clinic, as it often creates distraction – ie. health and safety related.
